Detail/Contour/Feature/Engineering Surveys are carried out to provide both horizontal and vertical information over an area of land and are normally undertaken so buildings or construction works can be designed without interference to existing infrastructure. For example a detail survey would normally locate existing ground levels, exterior fences, buildings, services such as water, stormwater, sewerage, gas, telecommunications, electricity and other structures or impediments.
We believe detail surveys are more than picking up accurate levels and a few features. Detail surveys are an electronic photocopy of a site so you can design to the conditions on site and become aware of any problems or issues early in your project – not during Planning or Construction (costing you more time).

When providing setout information it is preferred as a separate sheet from the site/floor plans, clearly showing the points required (less interpretation of floorplans or combining information and creating sources of error). Plans without sufficient offset data/dimensions etc generate additional costs and time for our mutual client.
